(CNN) - Iranians wounded during protests are being seized at hospitals by members of an Islamic militia, an Amnesty International official told CNN.

Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami says rioters in Iran will be 'firmly' dealt with if they continue to protest.
Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami says rioters in Iran will be 'firmly' dealt with if they continue to protest.

"The Basijis are waiting for them," said Banafsheh Akhlaghi, western regional director of the human rights group, referring to the government's paramilitary arm that has cracked down on protesters during the violent aftermath of the June 12 presidential election.

Amnesty International has collected accounts from people who have left Iran and expatriates with relatives there who say the Basij has prohibited medical professionals from getting identification information from wounded demonstrators who check in, Akhlaghi said on Saturday. They are also not allowed to ask how the injuries happened, and relatives are hard pressed to find the wounded.

Once the patients are treated, the militia removes them from the hospital to an undisclosed location, she said.

Iran has restricted international news agencies, including CNN, from reporting inside the Islamic republic. However, CNN has received similar accounts, including that of a woman who arrived in the United States from Iran with a broken ankle and thumb. Read full story

Shame on this evil government. What are they so scared of that they are taking measures such Lying , murdering, torturing and .......
Just keep it up your days to tyrany will come to an end someday. Every dictator has a end, Saddam , Hitler , Musilini and many others in history of mankind.

When that day come when you would have to run to countries such as Afghanistan, Palestine, Syria where they favor you for all your financial contributions.

I respect and honor the Iranian youth and women to standing up to these evil dictators that shame Islam by using it as their weapon.

As a result of it there are lot of our youth that have lost faith , thinking that what this government is doing is actually Islam.

Iran Cleric: Execute Election Protesters

Iranian senior hard-line cleric Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami, member of the Assembly of Experts, delivers a Friday prayer sermon at Tehran University in Tehran, Friday, June 26, 2009. Khatami urged the government to punish post-election rioters strongly and with cruelty.

Opposition supporters, faced with a senior cleric’s demand that protest leaders be severely punished or even executed, enter the third week of their campaign against the election results in increasingly tight straits.

Where did all the “Islam is a peaceful religion” flag wavers run off to ??

Someone—–Please explain to the rest of us how this is an example of the teachings and policy of a peaceful religion ???

Filipe   June 28th, 2009 1220 GMT

From the article above-–

The woman, who didn't want to be identified for fear of her safety, said she was injured in a rally, but was too scared to go to a hospital. Instead, a doctor came to her home to treat her.

"The point is, when they are being taken to the hospital they don't actually get there," her friend who accompanied her told CNN last week. "Just like the reporters are being told not to report what they really see. Hospitals, administrative levels, are being told to stay out of the public because they're saying you're accusing the regime of being hostile."

**********************************************************************

Such a fine example of freedom and democracy !!!!

By all means--why should the rest of the free world be concerned about the intentions of Iran and their pursuit of nuclear weapons. After all, they a re loving and peaceful country.

Filipe   June 28th, 2009 1602 GMT

So, if you don't get killed in the demonstrations--only hurt-- don't go to the hospital for treatment because then you'll disappear-- never to be heard from again !!!!!!!

What a wonderful place !!!!

Filipe   June 28th, 2009 1855 GMT

So now they've taken British Embassy staff into custody-- arrested–or some might say-hostage !!!!

What bunch of morons !!!!

UK demands Iran embassy staff freed

Britain has demanded that the Iranian authorities free all employees of its Tehran embassy that have been accused of involvement in post-election unrest.

At least eight local staff working at the embassy have been detained since the disputed election on June 12, but it was unclear how many remained in custody on Sunday.

The European Union agreed on Sunday that any future "harassment and intimidation" of its diplomats should be met with a "strong, collective response".

"The EU calls on Iran and its authorities to stop hostilities against EU member states as well as [the] EU's partner countries and their citizens and to release an EU journalist still in custody," Jan Kohout, the Czech foreign minister, said.

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2009/06/2009628171640757616.html

We'll see if the EU has any teeth--or if they will simply follow Obamas' lead and continue to express "deep concern" !!!

Roxanne khadem   June 29th, 2009 145 GMT

We just heard that Mr. Mousavi , Iranian Presedential candidate was arrested. Can you guys confirm the news?

miriam   June 29th, 2009 1639 GMT

Filipe,

Not only the "Islam is a peaceful religion" flag-wavers, but all the left-wing protesters who are so quick to rally around 'certain' other issues. Also, where are all those government backed mass rallies in the Muslim world which are so quick to protest those same 'certain' issues?
They're all the same.
If the issue is not anti-Israel or anti-west, they don't care.
They're just cowards.

G.   June 29th, 2009 2031 GMT

Who the heck knows anything – the reporters are all arrested. Great government. The people must be proud....

G.   June 29th, 2009 2034 GMT

This is news? It was on the twitter blog days ago. We all heard about it. Human Rights groups have fussed about it awhile. Word spread – it beaten or shot, don't go to the hospitals. The gov. agents are arresting. They post emergency medical aide and warn to avoid hospitals.

G.   June 29th, 2009 2039 GMT

This is not a US thing. We are the first ones blamed and I worry about my two sons enough, and other young people overseas serving. This is an Iran thing. It might be a UN thing, but I wrote long ago, on twitter, that the UN was pretty much useless. They have meetings and sign things and go home. Have you ever seen some group of countries actually prevent or help in any situation? It's more a social club.

John A   June 30th, 2009 1451 GMT

Filipe you speak of the anti Israeli flag wavers. Thats funny. Israels blockades stop many Palestinians from reaching hospital. Last December the Israeli air force target hospital beds in Gaza with F16 fire power. Israelis who refuse to join the Israeli military regime face up to two years in prison. Israel would not let journalists enter Gaza. Israel blames their poor record on twisted propaganda from the UN. Many similarities between Israel and Iran. One big difference is Iran does not have an active military occupation of its neighbors. So please don't bring Israel awful record into this.

As for Iran, I don't know how many hanging chads were involved in this election. But their problems are currently within their own boarders. Nevertheless you still need to whip up anti Arab feelings.

G.   June 30th, 2009 1729 GMT

It's a really sad thing. How are people so cruel. That's not a question. They just are.

John A   June 30th, 2009 1926 GMT

Filipe wrote. So, if you don’t get killed in the demonstrations—-only hurt—- don’t go to the hospital for treatment because then you’ll disappear—- never to be heard from again !!!!!!!

What a wonderful place !!!!

Miriam writes: If the issue is not anti-Israel or anti-west, they don’t care.
They’re just cowards.
--------------------------------–
Filipe & Miriam, there are over 2,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. 500 have not even been charged or sentenced with any offense. Again Israel and Iran show similarities. Those 500 have disappeared into Israel’s brutal regime without a chance to see their families. Another “wonderful place”.

Also it is not understood why you quote organisations such as the UN. When the UN accuses Israel, you write them off as pro Hamas anti Zionists. Historically you have used quotes from the Guardian news paper and Wikipedia when they view Arabic problems. But when the same sources denounce Israel’s shameful behaviour, you claim they are liars.

Filipe & Miriam, this blog is about Iran. However you shamelessly seek opportunities to pretend that all who see Israel’s wrongs are silent cowards when viewing the Iran situation. What a pathetic attempt to manipulate, you must think all readers are dumber than you. Sorry to tell you, but your levels of intelligence are uniquely dim and without comparison.

Please understand Iran is Iran & Israel is Israel. Wrong deeds are wrong no matter which culture perpetrates the deeds. Iran’s problems do not justify Israel’s state terror in Gaza and the West Bank.

I do not write this blog to comment on Israel, please remember you introduced Israel to this blog. Again this blog is about Iran and please don’t pervert this blog.

Thank you!

Barry   June 30th, 2009 1940 GMT

John A –

That's one of the benefits of supporting Israel. No one needs to go out of their way to whip up anti-Arab feelings. The actions of the Arabs speak for themselves and are widely condemned throughout the civilized world.

Do you have any proof that the Israeli Air Force actually targeted hospitals in Gaza – that it was their intent to hit a hospital? I haven't seen any such proof.

I imagine that the Hamas terrorists who were hiding in and around the hospitals had nothing to do with it, right? The ones outfitted as doctors and nurses were just playing dress-up, I guess. The patients they threw out on the street to make room for the terrorists were probably all just faking their injuries, too.

I'd put Israel's record up against Islamic terrorists' any day of the week. Hamas went out of its way to try to maximize the number of civilian casualties. They fired from schools, mosques, hospitals, and crowded urban areas. They refused to let civilians leave. They used human shields and bragged about it. They hid behind women, children, and the elderly. Israel went out of its way to try to minimize the number of civilian casualties. This shows that Palestinians fundamentally do not support life. They could care less if they kill their own or the Israelis – as long as the terrorists stay in power. The Palestinians have learned nothing since they were invented in the 1950s.

Filipe   June 30th, 2009 2115 GMT

John A,

Pay attention to the topic of the blog !!!!! Is that too difficult ???

It's not about Israel! It's not about Gaza ! It's not about Palestine !

Why do you attempt to make it to be something that it;s not ???

Are you so filled with hatred and anti-semitism that everything you read you confuse with the Arab Israeli conflict ???

Additionally-- you accuse me of " Whip up anti Arab feelings" !!!!

Where do you get that from ???? Nothing I've said on this blog has anything whatsoever to do with Arabs or anti Arab sentiment !!!

Are you simply confused or are you just ignorant of the fact that Iranians are Persians--not Arabs ?????

Find the blog for the Arab/ Israeli conflict if that's what you want to discuss. This blog is about Iran and their corrupt theocratic government and imitation election process !

Filipe   June 30th, 2009 2136 GMT

John A,

Where do you get this nonsense???

Neither I nor miriam mentioned a single word in this blog about the UN.

Nor have I made this into anything other than a discussion of Iran and her warped sense of government and abuse of her citizens.

Only YOU want to make this out to be about something other than it is !!!! And then you say --"Filipe & Miriam, this blog is about Iran."

BWAAAAA!!!!!!!

Like I said before--- "Where did all the “Islam is a peaceful religion” flag wavers run off to ??"

You finally answered my question---- You just appeared-– and immediately started into a tirade about Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, Arabs, F-16s, Hamas, human shields, civilian casualties, Zionists, UN, prisons, blah....blah..... blah........

You ramble on about anything and everything except-- the subject at hand and the question which was asked !!!!!!!

What a hoot !!!!!

Go find the anti Israel hate blog -- your off topic rhetoric is ridiculous.

You just made miriams' exact point---without even trying--

"They’re all the same.
If the issue is not anti-Israel or anti-west, they don’t care.
They’re just cowards."

Filipe   June 30th, 2009 2143 GMT

Filipe before you step in to remind us of the blog theme, please remeber you & Miriam shamelessly seeked opportunities to pretend that all who see Israel’s wrongs are silent cowards when viewing the Iran situation.

Wrong deeds are wrong no matter which culture perpetrates the deeds. Iran’s problems do not justify Israel’s state terror in Gaza and the West Bank.

burningsoul   July 1st, 2009 434 GMT

I think they should start burning mosques in Iran and all other dictatoriship islamic governments in the region. They seem to have become a source of spreading cancer in Islamic societies. In Iran's case, the Basijis all reside there. These animals (the Basijis) have no souls. As much as Mosques might be considered holy places, I think if there are Basijis in them, they have to be burned down and the Basijis in them exposed.

John A   July 1st, 2009 922 GMT

Shalom Mr. Burning souls,

Your quote===== "Filipe you speak of the anti Israeli flag wavers. That's funny. Israels blockades stop many Palestinians from reaching hospital" ...blah....Israel.......blah....Israel......blah,,,,,F16s......blah......Israel

Re-read my initial posts on the subject of the blog-maybe you will comprehend that they are strictly to the subject of the blog.

It is you who needs to make everything about Israel-–go find an anti Israeli blog somewhere. You'll be right at home!!

This isn't about Israel !!!!

Why do you try to make everything out to be about Israel??? Your no different than the Amadinenutjob and the Supreme Ayassollah trying to make there electoral farce out to be a US and UK conspiracy !!!

What joke !!!!

John A   July 1st, 2009 1131 GMT

Filipe you refered to Israel and Miriam first used the name Israel.

You Zionists can't even follow a blog, what hope do you have following peace?

As for Iran, I don’t know how many hanging chads were involved in this election. Nobody does. But their problems are currently within their own boarders.

John A   July 1st, 2009 1507 GMT

Yes G, discrimination and apartheid regimes are based on a quest to gain power over different groups. When politics or religion propagate domination over others , we must look beyond the spin, propaganda & justifications to let us recognize the power game for what it is.

p.s. You often hint at your pro feminist views, as if women are immune from acts of discrimination or power games. Nearly all female leaders have eventually taken their nations to war. From Bodicia to Elizabeth I, Thatcher to Golda Meir & Mrs Ghandi etc ...If you believe in equality that means equally good and equally bad. So lets leave the feminists quest for power in the dust bin of history and try to view life without suggesting one sex acts better than another.

Filipe   July 1st, 2009 1727 GMT

John a

So now it's the female leaders of he world who draw your ire !!!

Why don't you just be honest and blurt it out--– You're angry at the entire world because no one listens to your point of view !!!!

Looks like even the new bloggers see right through your blind hatred!

Ray   July 1st, 2009 1741 GMT

Shame on you Mr. Khamenei and Ahmadinejad. Do you have no sense of humanity and compassion?

One good thing you have done, however and that is showing your true face to the rest of the world. I hope the civlized world does not deal with this government. In fact, I think should should be tried in the International courts for crimes against humanity.

miriam   July 1st, 2009 1836 GMT

John A,

My comments were in reference to all the left-wing liberalists and right-wing radical Islamists who never fail to take to the streets to protest against non-Muslims who defend against Islamic terrorism and incitement, but are deafeningly silent in their response to Muslims killing Muslims.

Filipe   July 1st, 2009 1921 GMT

miriam,

You certainly don't really expect John A to grasp all of that do you??

That's way too deep for his cognitive abilities!

John A   July 2nd, 2009 1105 GMT

Filipe you spend more time referring to me than referring to the issues.

Miriam, thanks for giving clarity to your position. I accept that we don't all have as much time as Filipe to write on this blog and occasionally our expressions may not transmit perfectly.

Nevertheless, the Zionists were the first to refer to Israel, in a feeble attempt to raise Israels image in comparison to their neighbors. Naturally when this is not accepted, the Zionist BS artists ask that we return to the theme of the blog.

I never entered this blog until viewing the manipulative propaganda. Why, because Irans problems are in Iran. They do not occupy anyone elses country. How many people who contribute to this blog are from Iran?

If Iranians starts an occupation of other peoples land and discriminate against the natural inhabitants of that land, the issue will become one of international responsibility. Currently Irans situation is not international, it is local and involves only the locals. It is not understood why so many wind bags (all supporters of Israel) need to contribute at all.

Filipe   July 2nd, 2009 1209 GMT

John A,

You still fail to identify anyone other than yourself as being the one who attempts to make a blog about Iran---something about Israel !!!

So-as i Posted above-which drew your ire so much you needed to respond with hate for Israel-

"So, if you don’t get killed in the demonstrations—-only hurt—- don’t go to the hospital for treatment because then you’ll disappear—- never to be heard from again !!!!!!!"

"What a wonderful place !!!!"

And

"Where did all the “Islam is a peaceful religion” flag wavers run off to ??"

"Someone—–Please explain to the rest of us how this is an example of the teachings and policy of a peaceful religion ???"

********************************************************

So --John A--- go ahead and respond with diatribe of rants and hatred against Israel and blame them for the Irans' internal calamities !!!

But if you don't mind--go ahead and show us all where I make this about to be about Israel !!!!-–Be specific !!!!

The European Union on Thursday was considering Britain's request to pull the bloc's ambassadors from Iran, an extraordinary move that would send a powerful signal of EU unity in the wake of Tehran's postelection crackdown.

"I think the symbolic signal cannot be underestimated," said Shannon Kile, a senior researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. "The EU hasn't been able to act in a unified way vis-a-vis Iran on anything."

If all else fails, including kindness and human rights, all people wanted in Iran was a free vote, then blame Zionists. I've not heard a peep from Israel. That is just too silly. Like N. Korea, Iran is loosing its freedoms and that bothers free people, there, here, everywhere. Like N. Korea, it's about force. Kill, arrests and shut them up. We all see it. Now we understand the area and religion better. I've never been to the ME, but was curious how it would go. I guess I'm just too use to my freedoms as a person and a female. I have a car that I can drive 24/7 and can't imagine limitations. My husband is very secure and can't imagine it either, but he is a strong male. I'm not big into limiting other peoples' potential. I find it amazing that anyone would choose that path and blame it to a very basic, primal fear between men and women and other people. I feel sorry for the brave, suffering women in Iran. Their guys should have done better – that's my opinion.

A top Iranian cleric said Friday that some of the detained Iranian staffers of the British Embassy in Tehran will be put on trial, and he accused Britain of a role in instigating widespread protests that erupted over the country's disputed presidential election.

The announcement by Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, head of the Guardian Council, came a day after the European Union demanded Iran release the staffers, who were detained on June 27. Britain is pressing EU countries to pull their ambassadors out of Tehran in protest.

Jannati, a powerful hard-liner who is close to Iran's supreme leader, told worshippers during a Friday prayer sermon in Tehran that the detained staffers "made confessions."

The men were identified as Ahmad T., Abolfazl B., Reza A., Mostafa F., Esmaeil R. and Mohammad Kh. and were all convicted of drug trafficking according to the report.

One day earlier, on Juy 1., six others were hanged in Tehran's Evin prison.

According to the human rights lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei, 29 people are scheduled to be executed in Tehran on Saturday July 4.

Here's the scoop!!

Former Revolutionary Guard Member: 'Military Coup' Underway In Iran

According to Mohsen Sazegara:

Right after the election, 11 o'clock at night, was a military coup because they went to (presidential candidate Mir Hossein) Mousavi's headquarters - five persons from the Revolutionary Guard - and told him that, 'Yes, the leader says that this is true, you have won the election, you are the elected president, but you can't be the president. (Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad should remain in the position.'
"And then they started to invent those fake numbers in Ministry of Interior. And right after that they started to arrest the people, to disconnect the country, to dismiss the reporters, and that is the reason that we call it a military coup."

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2009/06/former_revolutionary_guard_mem.html?ft=1&f=103943429

Also take note -–the extreme displeasure with the response and lack of support from your "Deeply Concerned Barack Obama".

http://www.sazegara.net/english/

Maybe the best move for Obama is, to again, one more time, extend his hand so the Tiny Terror from Tehran can take a dump in it !

I hope our people leave and everyone sending aide rethinks who they are aiding. Those sneaking around, stalkers, covert killers, whoever, terrorists should be stopped, not the open protestors. Being open and expressing an opinion is good. From there, we think and move forward. Thinking and moving forward should not be a crime.

John A. – I always go back to basics when trying to understand any issue. That is my starting point. So, in the human race we have a male and a female. That's pretty much the starting point of human existance. Who is kind to both. Then I move forward. Who is kind and to others, the poor, the sick, the overall population. But, first, I start with the male and female thing. That really is the starting point. Nothing else will ever work if that is messed up.

Starting from point one, the most very basic thing, I have a pretty good idea of what I believe. I like to keep it simple.
